HUNG HOI
Hong Hoi (also Xiong Hai) was born in Gulangyu Island, southwest of Xiamen in China’s southern Fujian Province. He learnt traditional ink painting at a young age, directly from his father – Hung Chun San. In 1978 he moved to Hong Kong to study with the painter Yang Shanshen (1913 – 2004) and develop his inimitable style of fantasy landscape painting, which he continues to this day.
