Yellowish-green nephrite of pebble material with variegated brown skin; with a flat lip and recessed flat oval foot surrounded by a protruding, flat oval footrim; carved with a continuous scene of a scholar with a walking staff standing beneath a rocky promontory with a pine tree and clouds gazing out at a bat emerging from clouds.
