Octagonal faceted golden moss, dendritic agate; with a concave lip and flat foot; the octagonal form carved on each main side with four facets rising to a central peak. This imperial form for distribution in large quantities was produced as a standard in the palace glassworks, but examples in various stones are much rarer. There are in the region of half a dozen known versions in agate, and this is the only one known in what is called ‘golden moss-agate’.
